The 2011 Matchbox Club Annual...comments and views so far Mark Hannah, USA: Just a short note to say I received the annual in good condition last week. I read it over the weekend and the articles were excellent. The photography was great and I must commend you for a fine work. As a collector for the last 26 years, I always welcome new information on Lesney and the products that were made. ThanksStephen Salmon, UK: Received the superb 2011 Annual. Obviously fascinated by the Rodney Smith Interview and the 'Top 10' article; was worth the wait and pleasantly surprised to see 7 models from my 10 submissions received more than 10+ votes, though as stated it was shocking to see so few Super Fasts. With such high quality content throughout, however, it is difficult to choose a favourite article, but I particularly liked Paul Carr's article on Pre-Production Miniatures; would have liked to have seen the Toyota Celica introduced into the range and very interesting to see the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II's moulded in plastic...Phil Davies, UK: While on the subject of the Annual I have to say that I have read the article \ interview with Rodney Smith several times over so far. It is absolutely fascinating, a real coup for the Club and I wish him well as he seems such a pleasant down to earth guy. I am slowly getting through the rest of the features and once again this is a very well produced document. Kevin all credit to you and your contributors. Mick Flack, Australia: Many thanks for the new annual - I wasn't disappointed. I have to say there were many highlights but suppose the Rodney Smith was the standout article - just superb and for the first time has re-written the definitive article on the Lesney Products start up - amazing stuff. I also enjoyed the toolmakers article as well as Christian's on Matchbox in Austria. Please thank Sacha for his work on the Top 10 - a labour of love if ever there was one. The results surprised me! I came to the conclusion popularity played a big factor rather than rarity. Look forward to more of the same next year - congratulations.Sacha Goldscheider, UK: The Annual just landed - how very CLASSY! Congrats, you can be really proud...Alan Dale, Australia: My copy of the club annual arrived at the end of this week, what a great read. I enjoyed all the articles. Everybody who was involved with the annual has done a fantastic job.Hugo Marsh, UK: I have just got the Annuals; many thanks. What an amazing publication! I found it very hard to put it in down - well done to you and all involved. The Rodney Smith interview is great, as you predicted...Roy Whiffen (Lesney Toolmaker) UK: Received the Annuals yesterday; found them to be absolutely fantastic. I just am unable to express my admiration for the manner in which you have produced them, everyone thinks they are superb, congratulations...Christian Falkensteiner, Austria: I am pleased to report that my copy of the Annual has arrived. I cannot pick out a favourite article, as they are all great!David Tilley, UK: It is great. I haven't had a chance to read it all yet as there is so much to digest. Charlie Mack, USA: Arrived today- a good read...Chris Terrington, UK: The 2011 annual, the articles were great, the one I enjoyed the most was Rodney Smith and also the one about other Countries. I like to thank you all, to the people who made the 2011 annual possible...Nick Adams, USA: Good show on the content, I enjoyed it all. Thanks for the great effort.I would like to see a short article on the Matchbox Dinky series: What happened to DY-34? In all the books and records of all the variations I have never seen an explanation of why there is no DY 34 Charles Portelli, USA: Just a short note to let you know that I am in receipt of the annual magazine. Thank you for a superb job producing a real first class publication. I have enjoyed reading it twice already especially Rodney's article. That was an excellent catch consider Rodney's advanced age. I have now placed it inside a protective cover because I suspect that I may review it a few more times. Thanks again...Dirk Schleuer, Germany: It's the best Annual yet especially the interview with Rodney! But also Simon about the Hösbach Times is great too...Tony Sudan, France: I cannot believe the hard work and assimilation of data, undertaken and produced by Dr. Goldscheider in such a clear and interesting format. The Survey is a masterpiece. Congratulations to him and all involved with this year's Annual.
