Here are some comments already received: Alan Dale Australia: 'I particularly liked the article "Me & My Matchbox" It is very interesting to read about other members collections. You & the team have done a fantastic job and I hope that the annual continues in the future. Great job.'
Leonard Muller AustraIia: 'thoroughly enjoyed reading all the stories, the one from Ricardo Cortes-Monroy was especially interesting to me as it reminded me of my efforts to secure the complete Yesteryear collection. I am now trying to get the variations...I only started about 5 years ago and I have 650 models, and the collection is growing fast.' R Cortes-Monroy Switzerland: 'A quick note to congratulate you on the great Matchbox Annual 2009. Having returned from my vacations, I read it yesterday and it is brilliant. What a pity it is issued only once a year!'
C Portelli USA: 'Had no time to read it yet, but from the looks of it, it is great improvement from last year's.'
M Flack Australia: 'Mag arrived safe and sound in Oz today and all I can say is WOW!! Fantastic job so well done. It was like getting the old MICA mag again but 10 times better...' C J Driscoll UK: 'Just to confirm that I have received in this mornings post the 2009 Matchbox Club Annual which looks fantastic. I haven't had time to read it properly as my boss would not appreciate it.'
Ken Noakes UK: It arrived today! Really enjoyed reading your article about your memories about collecting-it made me smile seeing the old Major Models pricelists-I used to avidly read them to see what was hot in the MOY world. My first swapmeet was Slough 1983. I didnt start collecting til 1981when I used to see Y5 Talbot vans in the newsagents. That got me started. Menier and Wrights. Then I went to Gems and Cobwebs in Maidenhead, I think, and remember being disappointed to see how many Y5 and Y12 vans there were and thought I'll never be able to collect all those. Then I found out that the vast majortiy of them in their shop window were Code 3s so I didnt need to collect them after all. What a relief! I remember asking a kid in my class who was going to the States to bring me bacK a Coca Cola van because I couldnt get one over here! And he did. That must have been 1981...'
Maurice Cook UK: 'Annual arrived today, haven't had time to read it yet, Only to look at the pictures, which look superb. The article about the beginning of M.I.C.A.,is great, and the whole annual looks like a winner...'
Andrew Healey UK: ' I recieved 2009 Annual this morning. All of it makes excellent reading...'
Malcolm Unwin UK: Mag arrived this morning and looks very impressive. Your articles on the past look very good but need time to read in detail. As the years go on the models get older but look even more attractive. Shame that does not apply to us!. My very first toy fair as a dealer was the 1st Farnham. I remember it well and was very excited counting the takings as Grace drove home, we could afford to eat again....
